Wonderful! Added a bit of Italian soul to Canberra for our recent trip. Friendly and accomodating wait staff, with blankets provided for outside dining - we didn’t have a booking so the only tables available were outside. Attentive, food came out quickly and was absolutely glorious. Excellent cocktail menu. Overall a delightful experience.

My wife and I just had an amazing time looking into each other’s eyes at this beautiful spot. Our waitress Freya was so friendly and attentive as were the rest of the staff, we own a cafe and understand the difficulties of finding good staff,so well done!!
Now the food, we started with the calamari which was fresh, light, delicious and moreish. For mains we enjoyed a house special, the Ainsley pizza and the carbonara spaghetti accompanied by a freshly prepared rocket salad which boasted green pear and roasted walnuts with a drizzle of balsamic glaze and some spanish onion. The spaghetti was just like my Italian friend, Carmine makes with pancetta and egg, so wonderfully authentic.
The pizza was on a traditional handmade base, great homemade sauce, spicy salami, ricotta, dollops of gorgonzola cheese and drizzle of honey. The pizza had this wonderful feeling of less is more and it did not overwhelm the rest of the meal.
We finished up sharing a warm slice of Nonna’s Lemon ricotta cake served with fresh double cream & blueberries which was divine, so light and fluffy, my wife enjoyed an Italian hot chocolate, and I had an espresso, which was on point. I highly recommend this restaurant for its service, atmosphere, food and price and I look forward to coming back soon.

Great little authentic Italian eatery in the middle of town.
FOOD: Lovely selection of delicious Italian pastas, risotto, pizza's, salads etc many of which could be made vegetarian and gluten free. Gf pizza bases are admittedly thicker and the gnocchi which was to include mushrooms had 1 small mushroom I'm the entire meal. The sauce was otherwise great. The gf pasta was cooked to perfection, would have that again and again.
STAFF: Absolutely brilliant. The woman who served us was super attentive, highly efficient, humorous, accommodating of menu changes and really warm and welcoming (I left wanting to hire her myself!). 10/10 staff... Whoever is hiring is doing a fantastic job!
DECOR: Simple, formal and elegant. Modern lines, nice and warm inside (in the heart of winter). Would recommend as a lovely restaurant to take friends or work colleagues to. Easily fit larger groups of 10 etc. The tables are also nicely spaced apart and there's a coat rack in the corridor with toilets, which proves useful.
LOCATION: Wheelchair friendly, with street parking available both outside and at the nearby parking lot.
OVERALL: Recommend and still blown away by how good our waitress was!

I don’t care. I have no shame. Briscola Italian is—how do I put this delicately—dishes-licking, dignity-abandoning, table-moaning good. The gnocchi bolognese? A velvety, saucy fever dream that made my fork weep with joy. Each bite was a tender, pillowy whisper of “you deserve this”—and frankly, I agree.
Now let’s talk about the garlic bread. That crunchy, buttery, garlicky sidekick? Criminally under-portioned. I needed a loaf, not a polite little basket. I was out there trying to absorb sauce with crumbs like some kind of flavor-deprived Canberra Marathon runner.
In short: if loving this meal is wrong, then lock me up and throw away the breadsticks.

Great food and service. All the food was delicious, our favourite was probably the Casareccia alibrandi pasta. The pizzas had nice and crispy crust that we like, all the toppings were yum. Food was served fast too. The staff were all friendly and attentive. This place is popular for a reason, we will definitely go back!
We had:
Pizza scampi special
Briscola pizza
Marco pollo pizza
Gran Sasso pizza
Casareccia alibrandi pasta
Risotto lino
Gnocchi gorgonzola

I love their food and often have quick lunches there since it's near my office. The staff is amazing too! We celebrated a friend's birthday there recently, and even though we forgot to book a table, they still accommodated us. Despite being fully booked, they managed to set up a table for us. We really enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant!

Happened to be the first customer today. In terms of service, Briscola has passionate and friendly waitresses that are happy to help.
In terms of the environment, there was not much that I could complain about. The place was clean and well decorated.
In terms of the food, I have ordered the polpette and barramundi in bianco. The polpette had chewy texture and the sauce was well flavoured.
The barramundi tasted quite decent, too. I liked how it was seared to be a little bit crispy and not too crunchy. I also happened to added some extra prawns, which I found nice to go alongside the barramundi.
The overall experience was definitely not bad, would recommend! 🤗

Managed to get a table for dinner without a booking for dinner on a Tuesday night and it was surprisingly busy.
Food was tasty, freshly cooked and well presented.
Service was good and quick.

We rocked up with no reservation and were very much surprised that we were seated with no issue as they were turning away bigger groups.
When we sat down we were waiting a while to get service, some groups sat after us and had food before we had even ordered.
When we did eventually get our food it was delicious. The Pizza Bread was piping hot and the pasta afterward was full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Definitely worth the wait.
If you love Italian food you will not be disappointed here.

Everything was just incredible. Some of the best Italian food we've ever had. The gluten-free pizza base was amazing - lots of other gf options too which we'd love to try one day. All the staff were super friendly and made us feel so welcome. Can't wait to come back again!
